Postpartum Depression

The birth of a baby can trigger lots of different intense emotions, from excitement and joy to fear and anxiety. But it can also result in something you might not expect, depression and hopelessness. I’m here to help you navigate these feelings and find the joy in motherhood.

Most new moms experience postpartum "baby blues" after childbirth, which commonly include mood swings, crying spells, anxiety and difficulty sleeping. Baby blues typically begin within the first two to three days after delivery, and may last for up to two weeks.

Postpartum depression is characterized by a series of symptoms that include: sudden mood changes, poor concentration, lack of sleep or too much sleep, anxiety or irritation, recurrent throughs of death or suicide among others, lasting for longer than 2 weeks.

Postpartum depression isn't a character flaw or a weakness. It’s the result of a compilation of problems, depending on the person. If you’re worried that you may postpartum depression, please do not hesitate to reach out and get the support you deserve.
